Sexual Dimorphism/Expert

Sexual dimorphism refers to the occurrence of two distinctly different manifestations of the same trait in male and female individuals of the same species. [1] The differences relate to appearance (e.g., height or body hair), physiological function (e.g., metabolism or immune function), or behavior, but not to sexual organs. Such differences are referred to as secondary sexual characteristics. The key to sexual dimorphism is the Y chromosome, on which the testicular determinant factor (testis-determining factor, TDF) is located in the SRY region ("sex-determining region of the Y chromosome").
